Mrs. Java Henderson's Bio

Greetings! I am Javalynn Henderson, an English Language Arts teacher at Demopolis Middle School! Currently, I am juggling the rewarding roles of teaching English Language Arts Advanced 7 , English Language Arts 7, and English Language Arts Intervention 8.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education English Language Arts at the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE) in 2012 and a Master of Arts in Education degree at The University of West Alabama in 2016. I am currently in my fifth year of teaching!
As a former middle school student of Demopolis Middle School, I take great honor and apply profound passion and energy into educating students who are now a part of this warm, close-knitted, and caring learning facility where I once obtained nourishment, guidance, and a life-long love and curiosity for education!
I am a wife to my loving husband, Jeffery Henderson II, and a mother to my passionate and intelligent son, Zion, who is 8-years-old! As a family,we share the hobbies of traveling, caring for our pets, and hosting gatherings for close friends and family. Aside from shared hobbies with Jeff and Zion, I enjoy cooking, bonding with nature and art, reading, writing, dancing, listening to music, and volunteering. I partake in daily rituals of prayer and self-reflection, which are key components to my success as an educator.
Quotes I LITERALLY apply to my life on a daily basis:
"Work hard in silence. Let Success make the noise."   -Anonymous
"Oh, the places you'll go!"  -Dr.Seuss
"Your past does not determine your destiny." -Anonymous
" Like how a single word can make a heart open, I might only have one match, but I can make an explosion." -Rachel Platten
Of course, my students are no strangers to these quotes, as most are displayed in our classroom and/or spoken often during our learning sessions. I take pride in the process of molding students and challenging them to become bold and fearless lovers of life and education!
