Spring Pacheco, school counselor

Demopolis middle school

Hello!  Welcome to the School Counseling Program at Demopolis Middle School.  My name is Spring Pacheco and I am thrilled to be a part of the Demopolis City School System.  It is such a privilege to be serving the middle school students in our community.

I want to take a moment to introduce myself to you.

I am not originally from Demopolis, but have strong ties to Marengo County.  I moved to Marengo County in July 1994, and graduated from Marengo Academy in 1995.  I then attended the University of West Alabama where I earned my B.S. in Early Childhood/Elementary Education in 2000.  I enjoyed my time as a student teacher at Westside Elementary and U.S. Jones.  However, after graduating I moved back to Mobile, Alabama where I taught a span of grade levels from Pre-K to 5th grade.  I earned my Masters in Education in the field of School Counseling from the University of South Alabama in 2010.  After earning this degree, I took some time off from the professional education field to homeschool my daughter.  I once again entered the education field in 2013 as a school counselor serving grades K-12 in the years since.  I have since then added to my family by adopting two girls through the Alabama Foster Care System and our family has enjoyed being back in Marengo County since 2018.  That process, along with many other experiences in my life, have helped me to become the counselor I am today.  I look forward to serving our community and our students for many years to come.

My goal as a counselor is to create a school counseling environment where students feel safe, loved, and comfortable to be who they are; to achieve their greatest potential; and to become lifelong learners who give back to their community because of the love and support they have been shown in their youth.
